White and smooth

This was supposed to be a showstopper night, but only few had those showstopper performances.  Resident juror Gerald Salonga was not there so I missed his comments.  Though Jimmy Bondoc provided some good insights, but I really like Gerald and Louie’s comments, plus the fact that I disagree with some of Ivy Violan’s comments.  Bunny opened the show with her Can’t get no satisfaction, I really like her rendition, though at times, she seems conscious of her dance moves that her voice was overwhelmed by the live band.  But she was really good, she was at her good elements that night.  For Cris, singing it’s raining men, as usual she gave her sexy rendition, and her good voice stand out.  Lumabas yung ganda ng voice nya, but then, for me it’s not a good choice of a song to Bunny’s song.  Since Bunny had lots of movements and lines, for Cris it was the same line, its raining men and the same cheorography.  Naturally since Cris took off that whole body jacket to reveal her body, she was Jimmy’s favorite.  Next was Sen doing Bailamos, his voice was kinda fading and I hear the band more, but it was a better performance than Van’s Through the Fire, certainly not a good song choice.  Parang tinatamad si Van kumanta, while Sen was really inspired and internalized the song more.  Good thing, it was Sen who was the higher scorer between him and Van, even if Van had the whole audience with him.  Between Miguel and Inaki, even if Inaki’s voice does have the power to sang I’d do anything for Love, but it shows that he felt the song, not unlike Miguel that obviously eh mukhang galit na galit na namang kumanta ng When doves Cry.  Sayang kasi, he has a nice voice but then he don’t know how to control his facial expression which shows in his voice.  He should have practice in front of the mirror.  In the end, it was the less powered voice that won, which was Inaki.  Kahit you’ll notice that some of his notes were really weak, but then it was a nice performance and less pain to watch than Miguels’.  Bugoy sang Nakapagtataka, but then he was not in his elements that night, kulang sa power, as in you’ll think if it was the same Bugoy you were hearing the past gala nights, but then since his voice is really different, that probably gave him a better score than apple who sang, we are family.  Apple’s voice was really saying, kasi she really has a good voice which could give Laarni and Liezel a run but then sinasayang nya and she was hiding it with her choice of songs.  She don’t give her 100% performance eh, even if it shows that she had a better performance than Bugoy. But then it was Bugoy was the winner between the two of them.  Good thing that Bugoy has a choir as backup kundi mas madidinig yung pagkakalat nya. I felt bad for Apple coz she really has better performance this time.  She even plays with the notes.  Obviously, the last pair was the best, Laarni doing april Boy’s Di ko kayang tanggapin.  Which I really cant accept, why she was given that song.  While Liezel was given a very good material, sana pinagbaliktad na lang, kasi with Liezel, kahit na may pagkaboses palaka yung voice nya at nakakasawa na pakinggan, it really shows the feeling kahit pa di naman feel ni Zel yung kanta.  Unfair talaga for Laarni, though her rendition was really good, it was the end note na nagpababa ng score nya, kasi kumulot and nawala sa tono, while Zel’s song has the usual high and low. Kawawa naman si Laarni, I felt that Zel have gone to be a mayabang na.  Her worry the whole week was pano kung matalo siya ni Laarni eh mapapahiya siya kasi from Star scholar to bottom five.  Di dapat ganon, I really felt, the mentors don’t like Laarni kasi nga she’s so emotional.  But she really has a good voice, she really gave Poy a good fight sa showdown nila.  That night showed that Laarni has a very good voice.  Poy was intimated sa showdown,  and it really showed.  Sayang talaga, they should have given the showdown song to be Laarni’s song against Zel, ewan ko lang kung scholar of the week pa din si Zel.  Oh well, that’s the 7^th gala night of PDA.  Good thing, the mentors choose to save Bunny, I thought it would be Miguel na naman eh halata na yan sobra favoritism.  I guess it was Miguel who should leave na, he can’t remember a thing na sinasabi sa kanya nina Direk Joey.  Well let’s wait and see.  Till next time..
