Well well well.. What is new? Manny Pacquiao, currently a holder of three weight classes had this latest victim. This time it was the Golden Boy, an Olympic gold medalist by the name of Oscar del Hoya. Who doesn’t know him, well probably those none sports enthusiasts. And Pacquiao? Of course, he is very much popular here in the Philippines. Everytime he has a fight, everybody is at home watching his fight. Crime is either zero or less during the time of his fight. There were ceasefire between the rebel and the government. With him becoming so popular, the fights are being shown in sports complex for free courtesy of politicians. Cinemas, restaurants and bars also offers to show the fight for a fee of course. Most of the time, the local channel airs the fight in the Philippines after the end of the real fight in the US, the rival channel then announces who the winner before or during the airing. So others opt to view the fight in cinemas and bars, or in the sport complex. Dela hoya clearly has all the advantages for this fight, especially with his height and long reach. But of course, David beat Goliath even if he is just a small boy. So it’s no surprise that Pacman (as Manny is fondly called) beat the Golden boy in round 8. Roach (Manny’s coach) originally predicted win in Round 9. The fight was stopped by Dela Hoya’s trainer as he saw that his golden boy is not golden anymore but a severely beaten boy. Reports said that after the fight, Dela hoya was brought in a local hospital as a preliminary precaution. Well Pacman clearly dominated the fight since Round 1, showing some new unpredictable pattern of techniques. That probably surprised Dela hoya. So Congratulations Manny! You did your country proud again! You are a very good boxer! Please remember that!
You & Me Against the World with Gretchen Barretto
I was able to watch the show till the end. It is a new game show in Channel 5, hosted by Gretchen Barretto. Basically the concept is a bit like of 1 vs 100 by Edu Manzano before, but this time there was some twists in the show. First round would have two contestants, tonight it was Gabby Concepcion and Marjorie Barretto, who would connive to play against the world. There were some selected participants that act as studio contestants. Round two would have the two contestants, vie on who has the same answer as that of the world. For this round, it does not really matter what is the “correct” answer, but whose answer is the same with the bigger percentage of the world. Third round, with Marjorie advancing against Gabby, there was some series of questions with corresponding amount of money. Each time a correct answer is made she would go to the next question. But if an answer is wrong, she’ll just get half of the money she won and the rest of the P1M goes to the world. Every episode, the show is giving P1M, so it’s a win win situation with the contestant and the world. Plus the questions in the 3rd round is easy but tricky. Overall the show is good, there were some moments that is boring, maybe they just need a good musical scoring to give some suspense. Gretchen’s outfit, shoes and jewelry is interesting to look forward to. I myself would like to be a studio contestant, but i wanted to become part of the world first and i hope that when that moment i became part of the world, the money that would be given to world is big.
Kahit Isang Saglit – Last three weeks!!!
Oh my! I have heard last night that KIS is on its last three weeks! It’s so sad that the show you have learned to love and like would come near its end. I still remember the first time i watched it, and i even blogged about it. Now it would end after three weeks. <Sigh> Is that the reason why Carmen Soo is in town? I thought she would just be shooting her film with Jericho and that would be another thing to watch for. So for now, i’ll just enjoy the last three weeks of the show.
Kahit Isang Saglit – 11.19.08 Episode
I’ve managed to come early last night and catch KIS episode. It was such a suspense, exciting and dramatic episode. As usual, Jericho delivered well, Carmen is still as beautiful as ever even if she’s crying and Empoy surprisingly is good too. This is the episode wherein to test Rocky’s loyalty and so he could meet Amor Seko, the organization kidnapped Nestor and Garie so they set it up and had Rocky kill them. Of course, with the kind heart that Rocky has, and with his love for his bestfriend and the girl love of his life he couldn’t kill them. Instead, he help them so they could escape, but then he was shot and all of them are captured again. What his ‘ninong’ did was to call PDEA and tip them about the location of the victims. But then again, the impatient guy who kidnapped Garie and Nestor wanted to kill all of them. I know somebody would be shot dead so tonight’s episode would be a very good one. Don’t forget to watch it! I hope I would be able to!
Pinoy Fear Factor
Pinoy Fear Factor Argentina opened last night. It showed some places in Argentina. And it also showed how the contestants were picked from their homes. The episode also featured the life of each of the contestants. I think the most common thing when they picked the contestants was their body. All of them have good body as shown in their bikini and trunk on a room with lights and big ice. I noticed that even though the flight was long and they had so many plane rides, they didn’t talked that much. I guess most of them are thinking about their family back home and the challenges that are awaiting them. It was only when they were in Argentina and had a good night sleep that they have been talking, playing and teasing each other. The show also showed the first tasks and that is to walk to a pipe and get flags while it is rolling. Since the show is shot in Argentina, the challenges are in spanish as well as some of Ryan’s dialogue. This was fine to me as I am learning spanish words, get to see Argentina while watching the show. Overall, the show was impressive, the challenger’s personality is intriguing and the challenges are exciting.
Clinica Dermatologica Aestetica
After two years of not visiting a dermatologist, I finally visited one few weeks ago. It’s not that I don’t have pimple breakouts but those are minimal and only appears once every month whenever I have my period. The last couple of months have been stressful at work along with some personal problems plus having only 4-5 hrs of sleep a day caused the big acne to show up again on my ever pimple scarred face. It’s not that I have a thing with dermas but so far, I have learned to know what causes my pimple and what products to use. For example, I have big acne breakouts whenever I use soap on my face. Even derma soap or germicidal or herbal soap on my face, that’s why I stick to cetaphil. So I mentioned this to the dermatologist, but then he said that maybe the other dermatologist products are not that good, so I have to use the product combination he would give me so it would take away the oiliness in my face and dried out my pimples. I have to buy the soap, the glytoner, revitalizing solution and the sunblock. The soap was tea tree soap, know tea tree products makes skin dry. And so I bought the product combinations for more than 1000 pesos. He told me to stop the products I am currently using, all those commercial products, and also stop putting on makeup so it wouldn’t clog my pores. The next day I used the soap, the toner and the revitalizing solution and last the sunblock. I didn’t put any makeup even powder. After I put on all the products with 5 minutes interval, I immediately noticed the oiliness in my face. But I dismissed the fact and then I went off to work. And boy when I arrive at the office and see my face in the mirror, whoa! You can fry an egg with my face! Good thing I had my oil control film paper in my things. And I had to use at least 3-4 pieces of the paper to get the oiliness in my face. Before I went home from work, I noticed that I used the oil control film 5-6 times that day. That night I noticed two new pimples forming in my face. One is more like an acne since there is hard area which has red color. The next morning, it was the same thing. For four days, I had 5 new pimples, 4 of each developed into acne with pus inside! The doctor was wrong, my face became more oily and I even developed new pimples. I stop using the soap at first, and then I noticed that the oiliness became less. But then I still developed pimple and acne. Even my friends and family noticed that my face is at my worsed! Now, I stopped using all the products all together and went back to my “commercial” products and applying powder to my still “oily” face. And now my face lightened up, I still have the acne but it dries up. And now I noticed that all the scars of the pimples I had that the dermatologist treated and the pimples I had during the time I used the products sold by the dermatologist is still very prominent. So the lesson is that if I go to derma centers to have my facial, I would not buy the products!
Miley Cyrus – Sweet Sixteen (at least!)
When you’re a famous tween queen, you would have the license to celebrate your 16th birthday one month ahead of time and have the worlds famous theme park, “Disneyland” closed for the day. With tickets pegged at $250, who wouldn’t take the time to enjoy the rides, the “mini” concert where she sang four songs. And of course, rubbing elbows with the celebrities included in the 5,000 attendance guest list.

According to Disney, the puppy, a Maltipoo – a cross between a Maltese and a poodle – was a surprise from her parents and is named Sophie, after a dog owned by her late grandfather.
While Demi Lovato was invited, the Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez were not. Of course who would want to invite your ex-boyfriend and the girl he is currently dating!
